Great Old Broads for Wilderness
Protecting wilderness for future generations
Great Old Broads for Wilderness is a women-led national grassroots organization that engages and inspires activism to preserve and protect wilderness and wild lands. As a women-led organization, we bring knowledge, leadership, and humor to the conservation movement to protect our last wild places on earth.
Conceived by older women who love wilderness, Broads gives voice to the millions of Americans who want to protect their public lands and wilderness for this and future generations. We bring knowledge, leadership, and humor to the wilderness preservation movement. And, we’re educating communities about the critical connection between healthy public lands and climate change mitigation.
Sara Husby is an accomplished environmental advocate with a passion for public land preservation. As Broads’ Executive Director, she represents the organization as a member of the America the Beautiful for All Coalition, serving on the Public Lands Workgroup. Before coming to Broads in 2022, she served as Executive Director and Campaign Director with Tuleyome in northern California, where she led the effort to create Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument. She also held leadership roles with the Anza Borrego Foundation and the Native American Land Conservancy, and has served as a consultant guiding several environmental nonprofits.
