Heather’s Choice

When I started Heather’s Choice in the summer of 2014 with nothing but a pickup truck, a few table top dehydrators and a hand drawn logo, I never could have imagined where I would find myself today.
My goal was simple; I wanted to put the same healthy food I would eat at home in people’s packs. I wanted my friends to have good, quality food that they could rely on for their backcountry pursuits. I wanted to share my enthusiasm and excitement with adventurers across the globe, and feel like I got to experience a little piece of their trips. When someone took a Heather’s Choice meal on a river, or deep into the mountains, I felt like in some way I got to be there with them.
Today, I’m completely overwhelmed by what Heather’s Choice has become.
It’s now a team of 12 amazing people located here in Anchorage, Alaska who source, prep, cook, dehydrate, package, distribute, sell and market our products.
It’s now a full blown production facility, with three locations chocked full of equipment, packaging, organic ingredients, finished products, shop dogs and more.
It’s now a brand that is distributed nationwide to trusted retail partners such as REI.
It’s now a full adventure menu that includes recipes I developed back in the summer of 2014, with not a dollar to my name, but an untamable passion for food.
