Our products were always conceptualized, engineered, and produced by our own staff, driven by passion for innovative design. As an engineering Ph.D as well as an avid outdoor enthusiast, Julie Shang co-founded TOAKS in 2011 in Thousand Oaks, California. (TOAKS gets its name from the town of Thousand Oaks!).
As an engineer, Julie enjoys working in titanium because it is lightweight, durable, non-rusting, and non-toxic. Drawing from her own experience exploring the outdoors, she creates innovative products crafted in titanium for the outdoor community.
